Languages and AI

One template, five languages, and AI where it saves typing. A person reviews what goes into a template, AI text in a report is labelled, and this page lists exactly what each feature sends and where.

Report languages

The same report in five languages

English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French. Each request names its language, and the report follows it:

  • Headings, labels and footers, from the template's reviewed translations
  • Dates and numbers, in the language's own format
  • Page numbers and the words Pressfox prints itself, such as the photo appendix
  • The hosted page: menus, contents and status pages

A label without a translation falls back to the original, label by label, so a partly translated template still renders.

How template translation works

  1. Step 1

    AI drafts

    In the designer's Languages panel, AI drafts the template's headings, labels and footers in the languages you pick. On Free you type them yourself.

  2. Step 2

    A person reviews

    You read and edit every line next to the original. Missing or changed lines are marked, so nothing slips through.

  3. Step 3

    Frozen at publish

    Publishing freezes the reviewed text into the template version. Every report in that language reads it.

No model runs at print time. A Spanish report reads the frozen Spanish text. The same data always gives the same report, today and after a retry, and printing never waits on an AI service.

Your text

Translate field notes on request

An inspector writes in Portuguese; the client reads English. The template's author marks the free-text fields that may be translated, such as notes and findings. A request then names the language the text was written in, and only those fields are translated.

  • Ids, codes, numbers and dates are never translated
  • Every number in the original must survive, or nothing is used
  • The PDF and hosted page say “Text fields machine-translated from Portuguese.”

    AI summary widget

    Point the widget at the fields to read, such as every finding. When the report is created it writes a few sentences in the report's language, labelled “Written by AI”, and keeps them with the report. If it cannot, the widget prints nothing and the report still renders.

    You choose the fields and the length.

  • In the designer

    Designer assistant

    Describe a change, such as a findings table under the photos. The assistant proposes it on the canvas, checked like any edit. It sees the template and the sample's field names, never data from real reports.

    Nothing changes until you apply it.

  • To get started

    Start from your report

    Upload a PDF of a report you make today. Pressfox reads its text and builds a draft template with the same sections, wording and fields. Only the text is sent, never pictures, and you can ask for invented example values in place of real ones.

    The draft is never published by itself.

Markdown version

A Markdown version of every report

Ask for it per report, or turn it on for the workspace. Same content as the PDF, in reading order, with headings, tables and labels intact, ready for an assistant or a search index. Code builds it, not AI, so the same report always gives the same text. The PDF stays the official document.

In preview

AI agents over MCP

Connect an assistant such as Claude by signing in to Pressfox and approving it, or run the server locally with a workspace key. An approved assistant can read templates, and create, read and share reports. It cannot delete reports, change templates or touch members, keys or billing. Disconnect it any time in Settings. No model runs on our side. In preview: we turn it on for your workspace on request.

What the AI sees

Every AI feature runs on Claude through the Anthropic API. AI text leaves the EU; reports, payloads and PDFs do not. They are stored in the EU.

Honest limits

What it does not do

  • Five languages only: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French.
  • No right-to-left scripts such as Arabic or Hebrew.
  • Scanned PDFs are not imported: the PDF needs a text layer.
  • No images are ever sent to a model, so photos are not described or summarised.
  • AI output can be wrong. That is why a person reviews template text, and why AI text in a report is labelled.
